-Y rule

if we have a verb that ends in consonante + Y, when we want it to conjugate to the simple past what we have to do is to errase the "y" and write the "ied"

For example:

Fry= Fried

Cry=Cried

If a verb ends in consonant and -y, you take off the y and add -ied.

try → tried
carry → carried

But if the word ends in a vowel and -y, you add -ed.

play → played
enjoy → enjoyed
